Field work in Meiji Jingu Shrine 明治神宮
We had a big tree survey project of Meiji Jingu Shrine plantation during 2012. I was out of office for a week doing field work. Here we are measuring the trees' crown projection north-south, east-west. After that I put the field data into the GIS-system to have nice geo-referenced digital maps for the future.
My speech in Japanese about field work in Meiji Jingu Shrine. The speech contest was held in Machida on February 24 2013. About 70 guests attended. 日本語頑張って下さい。

Early spring Kyoto stream
Soon after the big earthquake and tsunami I went to Kyoto at safe distance to await better news about the situation of the damaged Fukushima nuclear power station. I was having stomach ache constantly but managed to get outside and stroll a little around in the streets though.
Kyoto is always beautiful. I had not been there before in the middle of march, and I discovered some secret beauty. In the early spring sunshine the wide shallow streams running through the city with the hanging willows alongside bring a magical kind of atmosphere into the city.
